We would love for your family to join us for Sunday Worship at Grey Stone Church. GSKU is located in the Legacy Center (the newest building on campus).

On the 1st floor you will find our Check-In Area, Nursery, and Toddler – 2 year old classrooms. 3 year old’s through 5th graders meet on the 2nd floor which is accessible by elevator if needed.  We have Kids Worship for children at both worship service hours (8:45am & 11:15am) and Life Groups 4 Kids at the Life Group Hour (10:00am).

Kids Worship @ 8:45am & 11:15am

At this large group setting, your child will have the opportunity to participate in music, games, crafts, and hear biblical truths at an age appropriate level! We have separate Kids Worships for Elementary and Preschoolers.

Life Groups 4 Kids @ 10:00am

At this hour, kids break out into smaller groups according to their age. During LG4K's, kids have snack, bible lessons, and an interactive activity focused on the lesson.

Wednesdays @ GSKU (Sept-May)

Welcoming all 18months-5th graders to join us for a fun midweek evening.  Check in at the Legacy Center welcome desk at 6:00pm and be escorted upstairs for dinner, music, games, and biblical truths. The night ends at 7:30pm, but the conversations in the car can last the whole way home.

FUN FAM Wednesdays (June-August)

As we move into summer, we want to invite you and your kids to join us for many different FAMily events over the summer months. Evenings can vary from visiting Eno River Farm for ice-cream to jumping around at SkyZone. Our hope is that this would be a time to connect with family, friends, and make great memories.

Age-Specific Info

Nursery (Birth — 18 Months)

This is some text inside of a div block.

Your littlest ones are precious to us — and we take that seriously. Our nursery is a warm, safe, and joyful space where infants and young toddlers are loved and cared for by screened & trained volunteers while you worship. We want you to feel completely at peace knowing your baby is in good hands.

  • All nursery caregivers are adults (18+), background-checked.
  • Please bring a fully packed diaper bag and complete the Nursery Info Form at drop-off (nap schedule, feeding notes, etc.).
  • Note any allergies or special needs on your child's name tag at check-in — our team references these frequently.
  • Ratios are kept at 1 volunteer per 2-3 infants so your child gets the individual attention they deserve.
  • We use a secure check-in/check-out system — a matching claim tag is required to pick up your child.

Note: For your child's first visit, arrive a few minutes early so we can get to know your little one and answer any questions.

Toddlers (18months -2 Years Old)

This is some text inside of a div block.

Toddlers are on the move, and so is our love for them! In our toddler room, 18month - 2- year-olds explore God's love through simple stories, songs, play, and relationship-building with friends and our volunteer team. This is where the foundations of faith begin — and we make it fun.

  • Our toddler class maintains a 1:5 volunteer-to-child ratio for attentive, hands-on care.
  • "We provide snacks during class! Please let us know if your child has any allergies at check-in on their name tag."
  • We use a secure check-in/check-out system — a matching claim tag is required to pick up your child.

Preschool (3 -5 Years Old)

This is some text inside of a div block.

Preschoolers are curious, creative, and ready to discover that Jesus loves them! Our 3-5 year old classes use age-appropriate Bible stories, worship songs, crafts, and guided play to help young hearts begin to grasp the big truths of the gospel. Our desire is to partner with you, as the spiritual champion of your home.

  • Classes run during all Sunday morning worship services.
  • Volunteer-to-child ratio is 1:7 — plenty of personal attention in a structured, fun environment.
  • Children are expected to begin leaming to listen during story time, share with others, and follow simple instructions from volunteers.
  • We use a secure check-in/check-out system — a matching claim tag is required to pick up your child.

Note: If your child has separation anxiety or special needs, please connect with Amanda Whitt beforehand at amanda@gsdurham.com, so we can make their first experience a great one.

Elementary (Kindergarten — 5th Grade)

This is some text inside of a div block.

Kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade are ready to go deeper — and we're here for it. Our elementary program is an engaging, gospel-centered environment where kids dig into God's Word, ask real questions, build friendships, and discover who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him. We want every kid to leave knowing they are known, loved, and that the Bible is true.

  • Classes run during all Sunday morning worship services.
  • Volunteer-to-child ratio is 1:10 for an interactive, community-focused experience.
  • We encourage ongoing discipleship at home — ask your kid what they're learning and keep the conversation going!
  • We use a secure check-in/check-out system — a matching claim tag is required to pick up your child.

Note: Questions about curriculum or what your child is learning? Reach out to Pastor Jamo at jamo@gsdurham.com.

Policies

Check-In & Check-Out

This is some text inside of a div block.

We use a secure, tag-based check-in system to make sure your child is always in the right hands. Here's what to expect:

  • Check in your child at the front desk before drop-off. Parents and guardians will receive a matching claim tag — keep it with you.
  • Apply your child's name tag to their clothing and/or diaper bag. Note any allergies or special needs directly on the tag at check-in.
  • Please plan to pick up your child within 10 minutes of the service ending.
  • Nursery parents: complete the Nursery Info Form at drop-off with nap, feeding, and care instructions.
  • At pick-up, parents/guardians of preschool-aged children must present their claim tag.
  • Only parents may pick up children unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance with the Children's Pastor.

Volunteer Standards

This is some text inside of a div block.

In Grey Stone Kids Universe we strive to make each time we meet safe and meaningful for your kids. Because of this, every volunteer in GSKU must follow our safety policies. Highlighted below are a few of those policies.

  • All GSKU volunteers must be members of Grey Stone Church in good standing, complete an application, provide personal references, and pass a background check.
  • Background checks are renewed every 3 years.
  • A minimum of two fully qualified volunteers must be present in every classroom at all times — no child is ever alone with one adult.
  • At least one adult female volunteer must be present in each classroom at all times.
  • Volunteers are required to attend yearly GSKU trainings.

Note: For more info on our safety policies reach out to Pastor Jamo at jamo@gsdurham.com.

We love having your kids with us and keeping everyone healthy is how we keep them here. Please help us maintain a safe environment by following these guidelines:

  • Eye discharge or infection
  • Any communicable illness or infestation (including lice)
  • Unusual tiredness, paleness, or irritability

Snacks

This is some text inside of a div block.

We take food allergies seriously. Here's how we keep snack time safe for everyone:

  • At check-in, note any food allergies on your child's name tag and through our check-in software. Known allergies are also posted in each classroom.
  • If you prefer your child not receive church-provided snacks, simply note that at check-in.
  • Snacks are primarily given at the Life Group 4 Kids Hour (10:00am)

A Place for Exceptional Kids

At Grey Stone Kids Universe, we are committed to welcoming and including all children no matter their medical disability, sensory, or behavioral needs. Our goal for every child is inclusion and encouraging kids to interact with others, while under the care of adults with a heart for children. We understand transitions and certain environments can be challenging, so we have created a space where kids can have a place to reset and join the group when ready. If your child has a medical disability, sensory, or behavioral need, let us know before you visit in person.
